Where to Put Emulated 360 Controller Files Killing Floor 2

I don't pretend to be rude, but really - if you meant to play multiplayer, use your mouse and keyboard for sake of good experience for you and your teammates.

Sorry if the question was a bit confusing, I meant that I can't play with a key board and mouse or xbox controller. It is literally impossible for me to navigate the menu or play the game because the game thinks I'm playing with a controller when in reality I don't have one plugged in.

Have you checked any emulating software like xpadder or something like motionjoy ds3? Try to delete it if presented.

I don't have any emulating software installed and I have reinstalled the game but it still isn't working

Can you manually remove your gamepad driver via control panel? Also, clean the kf2 folder in documents where user defined settings are saved.

Delete this folder;

C:\Users\-your user-Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2

It holds the config files, deleting should reset them.

Every time the word controller is mentioned in a thread or post, almost immediately the discussion turns into Gamepad vs mouse and keyboard. Why are the simple minded so driven to tell those who use a gamepad they are playing wrong. The threads never ask an opinion about that but they are compelled to push their likes on others. Just because you like a keyboard/mouse, doesn't mean everyone must play with one. 99% on gamepad players know a mouse/keyboard is more accurate and responsive. They know this and like the controller better because in the end, fun is what really matters. So you simple minded, please don't constantly redirect threads because if feel that you need to enlighten all those gamepad users. They don't want your opinion. They know what you know already. You are not an amazing pool of knowledge.

I didn't fully understand op post on the first place, so sorry for that, but I did not continue the discussion until your opinion popup. Sure I shared my statement, because I don't think gamepad user can perform good in this game, where precision and reaction is vital. You can surely play with gamepad, but you are strict in movement and accuracy, which leads to you die a lot and potentionally can cause wipe of the team because of your underperformance. This is not definition of fun.

I deleted the file but it didn't work, although deleting all of the gamepad input lines in the input file seemed to stop all the spinning, at least making the game playable

Bad players cause deaths and wipes. Anybody decent enough with a controller can hold their own. You're not exactly sniping in this game so precision is a bit of an exagerration.
